Green Technology Company Announces Move to Gulf County

Biomass Gas & Electric announced Tuesday that it would build a facility in Gulf County that will transform biomass into electricity in what the company said was one of the most advanced such projects in the country.

This is great news after Arizona Chemical announced last Thursday that it will permanently close its Port St. Joe plant in July. The company intends to transfer its Port St. Joe production to its refineries in Panama City and Savannah, GA.

Biomass expects to generate 200 jobs and create 25 full-time permanent jobs upon opening, with another 50-80 jobs created in the "biomass" chain.

The MLS Hotsheet has not reported any pending contracts for the Port St Joe area from the past Memorial day weekend yet. We did have a busy weekend. I can only speak for my myself. I showed property every day of the weekend which resulted in one PENDING contract - On Saturday while working at Cape San Blas I sold a beach view lot with .46 acres. Asking price $99K See picture below.

HOMEOWNER SURVEY

About 75 percent of Americans think the real estate market has hit bottom and is now bouncing back, according to a consumer confidence study conducted by Zillow.com.

FEDERAL AID

The Obama administration is expected to expand its mortgage aid program today, announcing new measures to help at-risk homeowners avoid a blemished credit record. The new initiatives are expected to promote options such as short sales or a deed-in-lieu of foreclosure - methods that would allow borrowers to avoid foreclosure by either selling their properties or giving them back to lenders.
